She went against the global trend, and was one of the first in the Australasian market to extend into new areas, diversifying beyond fashion into eyewear, paint and fine jewellery. Although licensing is lucrative, Karen cautions that it presents its risks but can be carefully managed by being involved in all levels of licensing partnerships.
