Brisbane studio Halfbrick is the creator of hit game Fruit Ninja, which has been downloaded by more than 3.5 million people. Shainiel is the only original Halfbrick Studios founder still standing. He didn’t kill the others, merely proved his superior skills with a disco throwdown. When he isn’t jet-setting around the world speaking with other executives of the video game world and making Halfbrick the way it is today, he can be found playing Fight Night or fishing in the mud with no shoes. He’s just that kind of stand-up guy.
Shainiel has over 10 years experience in various roles in the IT industry, with over 7 years in game development. He successfully developed a number of titles from start to completion on different hardware platforms including console game development across multiple platforms (Nintendo DS, Sony PSP, GBA, XBOX, PS2, GCN).
Shainiel’s current roles include CEO of Halfbrick Studios and serving on the Board of the Game Developers Association of Australia (GDAA) He was formerly the President of Electronic Games Queensland.
